Testimonials from the Trenches....

Here’s what Joanne Grimble, owner of TastyLife Foods in Canmore had to say about her experience:

Community futures gave me the “wake up” call that I needed to move forward with creating my business. The realities of making a successful business requires time, diligence, strength and above all access to money. Patricia was able to enlighten me to the finer details of what it would take to make this business fly. The group support from the other classmates was also very helpful as we were moving through this process together as well we were able to lean upon each other for helpful information and emotional support. I really enjoyed most of the seminars, there was a good mix between the accounting help, marketing ideas and positive coaching. I looked forward to my sessions each week in Cochrane and found the frequency of the classes to suit my schedule enabling me to both run my business and learn about running a business.

I find that I am a slow learner with the accounting side of my brain and required more sessions in this area of business.

When I first started this process I was absolutely sure that I could do it all myself, accounting, marketing and the cooking. In the end I hired a graphic designer to re vamp my logo, I hired a book keeper that I had to pay more just to sort out my mistakes and I am currently looking at a website company for a redo on my site. Community futures told me all of this however sometimes we all just need to learn our lessons first hand!

Overall my experience has been positive and helpful in all areas and I could not be where I am today without this program.
